GiveTide Selected for MassChallenge Boston 2020 Accelerator

GiveTide joins global network of startups

JUNE 3, 2020 - Yesterday, GiveTide was selected to participate in the MassChallenge Boston 2020 accelerator program. GiveTide was one of over 1,100 other startups to apply for the accelerator located in Boston, and one of just 11 Social Impact startups to be accepted.

"We are thrilled and honored to have been selected as a finalist of the MassChallenge Boston 2020 cohort," said Pete Ghiorse, Co-Founder & CEO of GiveTide. "This opportunity will help us accelerate our mission of democratizing social impact, and comes just before our biggest product release to date."

As the flagship program, MassChallenge Boston accelerator supports more than 100 early-stage startups across industries and from regions around the world. Acceptance into the competitive program offers unmatched access to top experts, corporate partners, evidence-backed programming, and more. At its culmination in October, top startups have a unique opportunity to compete for up to $1M in cash prizes at the annual MassChallenge Awards.

Founded in 2017 by brothers Pete and James Ghiorse, GiveTide is a mobile fundraising tool designed to connect U.S. nonprofits with tech-savvy mobile donors. The flagship feature of the GiveTide mobile app lets users donate the “spare change” on their everyday purchases (e.g. $0.50 on a $3.50 cup of coffee) and make one-time and recurring donations (e.g. $25/month). Joining as a nonprofit is free and takes 5 minutes.

To date, the GiveTide app has raised tens of thousands of dollars for hundreds of U.S. nonprofits, and has been recognized in the Apple App Store, Forbes, and the Oprah Magazine.
